One pastor William Emeka, who is accused of raping four women in Bronkhorstspruit, east of Pretoria, fears for his life, his attorney Omoregie Ogboro said today.   Speaking to African News Agency (ANA) shortly after Emeka made another brief appearance in the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate’s Court, Ogboro said Emeka abandoned his bail bid on December 5 last year because he feared being attacked by some members of the public.   “There was a lot of tension and his church was burnt,” said Ogboro.   The 43-year-old Emeka, said to be a Democratic Republic of Congo national, was arrested in November last year and his church was burnt by unknown people near Bronkhorstspruit in the same month. EFCC warns former employees parading as current workers of the commission not to extort the pubic

EFCC has reacted to the activities of some former staff of the commission who are still parading themselves as being in the employ of the Commission, and using this means to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.   According to EFCC,  'preliminary investigation shows that some of the fraudsters brandish seemingly authentic Identity Cards as staff of the Commission to prey on their prospective victims. They make monetary demands and in return give promises to help stall ongoing corruption investigation, or promise to help secure employment for some people or their loved ones in the Commission'.   Investigation also revealed that some Identity Cards being paraded by the hoodlums are those of members of staff who have earlier reported them as lost or stolen at gunpoint and got Police Reports to be able to get replacements from the Human Resources Unit of the Commission.  Besides, some extortionists also design and print fake Identity cards with which they carry out t

Media personality, Bolanle Olukanni, took to her Instagram page on Thursday afternoon to testify of how she survived a near-fatal accident on January 20th, without a single scratch. She wrote; Upper Sunday I was in a life threatening accident with six other people .  I came out without a single scratch. Not one part of my body was affected , no injuries , no minor scratches or cuts . I came out like nothing happened. I can’t explain what it means to me to be sitting here completely whole and healthy after that accident .  A few things I can guarantee is that God is a miracle worker. A jilted boyfriend whose girlfriend had traveled out of town decided to confront her for allegedly cheating on him as he waited to welcome her at the airport. 2019 election: NBC sanctions NTA, AIT, Channels TV, TVC for allowing hate speeches by politicians

Four major television stations in the country have been sanctioned by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC for airing hate speech.   The television stations are: Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, African Independent Television, AIT, Channels TV and Television Continental, TVC. They were sanctioned for allowing hate speeches by politicians from both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the main opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to be aired on their networks.   According to the Director General of NBC, Malam Is’haq Modibbo Kawu during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, he said letters to the affected organisations notifying them about the sanction were awaiting delivery in his office.   He said the four stations failed to shut out chieftains of both parties who wilfully engaged in hate speeches during their political campaigns.   He said, ‘’Broadcasters have huge responsibility of protecting and guiding our democracy; and we have a very h

Lil Wayne files $20 million suit against his former lawyer for 'overcharging him' for 13 years.

American rapper,   Lil Wayne  has filed a $20 million lawsuit against his former attorney   Ronald Sweeney,  over claims he charged him beyond the industry standard for 13 years. In the court documents obtained by TMZ, the 36-year-old Grammy Award-winning rapper claims that Sweeney who served as his lawyer from 2005 through September 2018 charged him 10 percent when most deals in the industry were around five percent. According to Lil Wayne, the up-charge saw Sweeney make $20 million during his tenure. It was also claimed in the document, that the lawyer got greedy and started proposing he get an additional 10 percent of all profits from Wayne's label, Young Money but the rapper prevented that from happening.  In the suit, he says Sweeney managed to pull even more funds out of Wayne by enlisting the help of another law firm for the ongoing legal battles with Birdman and Cash Money Records, as well as Universal Music Group.  Wayne added that the firm got 23

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 35-year old Dorathy Sunday, pictured above, for allegedly stealing a five day old twin baby boy at the maternity ward of the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra state. A statement from the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said the suspect sneaked into the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi at about 5pm yesterday January 30th and stole a five day old twin baby boy at the maternity ward of the hospital when the mother of the baby, 22-year-old Mmadu Happiness Miracle of  Uruagu, Nnewi went to the hospital compound to wash her clothes. However, luck ran out of the suspect when Nurses at the hospital gate saw her in a suspicious manner and raised an alarm which led to her arrest. Meanwhile, the stolen baby was recovered in good condition and the case is under investigation after which suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.

A schoolgirl was found hanged days after a family dispute over chores. It has now been revealed that prior to her death, she told teachers at her school that she was afraid to go home. The body of Amber Peat, 13, was discovered in bushes three days after she disappeared from her home in Mansfield, England, after a family dispute. Teacher Joanne Holland said she previously phoned the girl’s mother Kelly Peat after the girl told her she was afraid to go home. Speaking at Nottinghamshire Coroner’s Court, Mrs Holland said: She was worried about going home because she had lost the belt off her coat. She basically said she was scared she was going to get told off. I had to phone home and tell mum, “It really is fine, we will find it”. A young Nigerian man has taken to Facebook to express his shock and disappointment after finding out his parents hid his twin brother from him since birth. Emmanuel Rowland, pictured right, said he was heartbroken as he thought he was an only child, not knowing he had a twin brother who was taken by his father after their birth because his parents decided to seperate. According to Emmanuel, he found out about his twin brother in August 2018, after his father had called to inform him. The Marathon service at a church in The Hague, Netherlands, has finally ended after 96 days. Bethel Church began the three-month vigil to protect an Armenian family from being arrested and deported. The nonstop 96-day vigil, which began on October 26, finally ended yesterday, Wednesday, January 30, after its organizers received confirmation that a family of refugees sheltering inside the church would no longer face immediate deportation from the Netherlands. The church was able to protect the five members of the Tamrazyan family by taking advantage of a Dutch law that forbids the police to interrupt church services. A man's penis snapped while having sex with his girlfriend and it made his male member swell to the size of a wine bottle.
