The Lagos Marathon will hold on February 2, 2019 and for about 12 hours, some parts of Lagos will be closed to vehicular and human traffic for the safety of thousands of runners, hundreds of thousands of cheering fans and millions of Lagosians. Below are alternative routes that will ease the movement of Lagosians and thousands who would want to join us at the Eko Atlantic finish point. All vehicles from Ikeja and environs headed to Victoria Island MUST go through Ikorodu Road. ·         All vehicles from Badagry, Mile 2 and environs going to Victoria Island MUST go through Apapa and Orile to link the Eko Bridge to Victoria Island. ·         Residents of Lagos Mainland, Surulere and environs MUST avoid Masha Area and National Stadium but can link Victoria Island through Iponri/Iganmu, Eko Bridge then unto Victoria Island. ·         Vehicles coming from Ibadan, Mowe and environs can link Victoria Island through Ojota, Ikorodu Road, Eko Bridge to Victoria Island. ·      

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released a list of 144 domestic and foreign observer groups accredited to monitor how the forthcoming general elections are conducted.   INEC made a full list of the accredited observers on its official website. The list comprised of 116 domestic observers and 28 international observers.   The electoral commission advised all the accredited observers to operate within the binding code of conduct for election observers. The commission said, “NEC reserves the right to cancel and withdraw the accreditation of any organisation if its members or agents breach the code of conduct.” See the full list of observers as accredited by INEC ( HERE )

An elderly racist woman was filmed abusing a black woman and it has caused outrage online. The racist woman called the black woman a monkey. When the black woman respectfully insisted that she isn't a monkey, the elderly woman told her that she originated from a monkey and kept repeating it. She went on to complain that black people are taking over and where ever you go, even to the mall, black people are everywhere. "God bless you ma'am," the black woman said to the white woman, leaving her momentarily taken aback. She then said: "Thank you." She went on to continue complaining about black people then said to the black woman, "Look at your hair, that looks awful." The video has generated outrage online. The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo State, as the party’s campaign council coordinator in the state.   This comes after the state chapter of the APC had already announced the suspension of the governor a few days ago. However, the APC NWC confirmed the suspension on Sunday saying its decision is based on Okorocha's anti-party activities. Confirming the suspension to Punch newspaper, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC National Publicity Secretary, noted that Okorocha could not be part of the party's strategic meetings since he had publicly worked against the party's interest.   Okorocha has vowed to work in the interest of the governorship ambition of his in-law, Uche Nwosu, who is the candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), against Hope Uzodinma of the APC.   Confirming the suspension, Issa-Onilu said : “the APC had directed governors to take over the campaign of the party in

A pastor was publicly humiliated after he was allegedly caught with the wife of one of his members in Benin, Edo state. In a video going viral online, Pastor Innocent of Army Power Ministry in Benin, Edo state, is seen confessing to sleeping with the wife of a church member. The pastor and the woman were caught in the act by the woman's son who then raised alarm, attracting members of the community. The pastor was then stripped of his shirt and taken to an uncompleted building where he was beaten. He then confessed to the act. "How e take happen?" members of the community can be heard asking. The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, has adjourned indefinitely further hearing on the non assets declaration charge filed against suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghe by the Federal Government. At the resumed hearing of the case today, the chairman of the Tribunal, Danladi Umar, said its decision to suspend Justice Onnoghen’s trial was based on the order of the Court of Appeal in Abuja. “Inview of the Court of Appeal order for stay of proceedings and out of respect for the Court of Appeal, the tribunal hereby adjourn this matter sine-die (indefinitely) pending the determination of the Appeal before the Court of Appeal”, Mr. Umar ruled. Late Misturat Titilope Hammed's boyfriend Olutayo has taken to Facebook to mourn her tragic death.  Misturat, her three friends and two others were crushed to death by a vehicle in Abeokuta, on Friday. The  Toyota Avensis car lost control, after experiencing a tyre burst, somersaulted and killed the students and others. Olutayo shared loved up photos with his late girlfriend on Facebook, saying that she is still "the one" He also dislosed that the last photo of Misturat shared few hours before her tragic death was posted by him.

The Benue State Police Command has arrested four suspected thieves in Gboko.   A statement issued on Monday, January 28, by the spokesman for the command, D SP. Moses Joel Yamu, said that on January  23, some hoodlums took advantage of the protest in Gboko to perpetrate their nefarious acts as they broke into the ICT Computer Centre opposite Ministry of Works, Gboko and carted away computer sets and accessories.   During investigation, the following persons were identified and arrested in connection to the crime; i. Moments ago, an election tribunal sitting in Abuja unanimously struck out the case of the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Olusola Eleka and upheld Dr Kayode Fayemi of the APC as a duly elected governor of the state. A petition had been filed by candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the July 14 governorship election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola challenging the electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi. In an over 700-page petition, Olusola had asked the Ekiti Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to declare him as the winner of the election “having scored the majority of lawful votes.”
