A Nigerian man, Olumide Olaniyan, has raised alarm after spotting another man believed to be a civilian, pictured above, roaming the streets in Nyanya, Abuja with an AK47 hung on his body. Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reacted to reports that journalist, Segun Onibiyo, is currently being held up in a cell he operates in the state. Recall that in November many twitter activists accused the governor of ordering the arrest and detention of Onibiyo over an anti-Buhari post he shared on his Facebook wall. Onibiyo was said to have been picked up by men of the state police command on the orders of the Governor El-Rufai. Read  here. Yesterday, someone tweeted that  ''We should not forget Segun Onibiyo is still in  @ elrufai  cell in Kaduna please.  # FreeSMGOnibiyo'' Responding to the tweet today, Governor El-Rufai said more people that tweet mesages like Onibiyo did will definite be prosecuted in the state. ''FACT!: KDSG has no cell! Whether you forget or not, Segun is in prison custody for incitement, malicious falsehood and hate speech, on the orders of a court of law. More like him that incite to kill or destroy property

Florida student, 20, arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his professor over an early morning exam

A student at  Florida Atlantic University  in  Boca Raton, Florida,  was reportedly arrested last week after he allegedly took to social media and threatened to kill his professor for scheduling an early morning exam. Florida's WPLG-TV reported that FAU police traced the account to  Rafael Decomas , 20, a student at the school, who made the threat but the tweet has since been deleted.  It was revealed that Decomas allegedly admitted he was "upset" that his data structure professor scheduled the final for 7 a.m., and his commute from Riviera Beach meant he would have to wake up at 5 a.m. According to a Police report, Decomas stated that he did not intend to harm anyone and that the post was tweeted out of frustration. He also added that he deleted the post soon after publishing it. He was charged with sending a written threat to kill or do bodily injury.  Decomas  was later released on a $5,000 bond from Palm Beach County jail.

F-SARS arrests robbery and kidnap suspects in Imo State

Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command have arrested alleged notorious armed robbery and kidnap suspects said to be terrorising the Ndiuche/Arondizuogu axis of the state.   The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi the suspects, Chikwendu Udeoye, 4; Agafechukwu Ojukwu, 34; and Maxwell Odenigbo, 45, were arrested by the F-SARS operatives led by its commander, Geoffrey Victor, on November 23, 2018.     The police boss said the suspects were allegedly involved in armed robbery, murder and kidnap activities. The CP stated, “The suspects were arrested at Ndiuche Arondizuogu in the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo state by F-SARS operatives coordinated by the commander, Victor Godfrey, and led by ASP Banjoko Oluwemimo, following tip-off intelligence. The suspects are Chikwendu Udeoye, 46, and Agafechukwu Ojukwu, 34, both of Ndiuche Arondizuogu, ldeato North LGA, and Maxwell Odenigbo, 45, of Umuakam, Ideato S

Premier League club,  Southampton,  has confirmed the appointment of  Ralph Hasenhuttl  as their new manager after dismissing  Mark Hughes  due to an awful start to season. According to Mail Online Football, the 51-year-old Austrian penned a two-and-a-half year contract with the club and will take over from caretaker manager  Kelvin Davis  on Thursday, after the game against Spurs. He replaces Mark Hughes who was sacked on Monday after an awful start to the season, winning just one win match out of 14 games this season. His assistant first team manager  Mark Bowen  and assistant first team coach  Eddie Niedzwieck  also left the club with him. In a statement by Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger, he said: 'The urgency to find a path back to our potential and to the results that we expect cannot be underestimated.  'For that reason, we are extremely pleased that Ralph Hasenhuttl has agreed to become our new manager and do all he can to help guide us back on that path

Indigenes of Obodukwu clan in Imo state, today staged a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, to demand the quick rescue of their son, Morgan Ekene Ihionu, who alongside many others are still trapped under the debris of the 7-storey building that collapsed in the state on November 23rd. 13 days after the incident, many of the victims are still trapped in the rubble. The Russian Government has unveiled a powerful new laser weapon which can take down targets 'within fractions of second' during a war battle. According to the country's government, the space age laser, named the Peresvet after a sixteenth-century Russian warrior monk, is already being deployed and used by Russia's armed forces. Russian Deputy Defense Minister  Yuri Borisov  told his ministry's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda on Monday that the machine can 'take down targets within fractions of a second'. 'We can talk a lot about laser weapons and movies were made about them a long time ago and fantastic books have been written, and everyone knows about this,' Borisov said. 'But the fact that these systems have started entering service is indeed today's reality.' The laser systems have since been entering service that allow disarming a potential adversary and hitting those facilities, which are the targets,'
