The House of Representative has approved N30,000 as the new minimum wage for workers in the country. The lawmakers passed the bill during Tuesday’s plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara. They approved the figure after the bill was read and passed for the third time on the floor of the lower chamber of the National Assembly in Abuja.   Prior to the passage of the bill, the House adopted the report of the ad-hoc committee set up to look into the bill presented to the National Assembly by President Buhari. It said it decided to adopt the report of the tripartite committee because of the obvious difficult living conditions in the country. The lawmakers inserted a clause in the bill which makes it effective from the date it is asserted to by the President. The Zamfara Government has called on residents of the state to embark on a three-day fasting and intensive prayers to seek God’s intervention against the activities of bandits, kidnappers and other crimes. A seven year old boy is fighting for his life after being attacked by a pack of dogs on a Thai beach. The attack happened on Sunday, at the beach at Ban Tha Nun, Takua Tung district of Phanggna province in Thailand's south. The victim identified as Yeunyong Chaiyarap or  "D-Max" was just out playing with his friends when the wild beasts struck. He was bitten all over his body and had an ear ripped off. Three teams of doctors and surgeons at Vichira Phuket hospital are trying to save his life. Four dogs have been shot by tranquilizer darts and caged amid fears that they are rabid, reported Daily News. Lamphaen Taemsee, 43, the mother of D-Max was allowed just five minutes to see her stricken son in ICU. The seven year old is "aware but under close supervision" said doctors at the hospital.

Rapper,   Fetty Wap , and   Alexis Skyy 's one-year-old daughter reportedly underwent an emergency brain surgery on Sunday.  According to TMZ, the estranged couple's daughter,  Alaiya , who suffers from hydrocephalus, a condition that causes bleeding and fluid in the brain after she was born three months premature, needed the procedure to repair a malfunctioning implant in her brain that helps drain blood and fluids.  Sources connected to Alexis revealed to the Gossip website the reality star noticed something was wrong with her daughter when she excessively started vomiting on a flight from Atlanta to NY. She then rushed her to the hospital where doctors began operating. The insiders also added that the surgery went well and Alaiya is now recovering.
