A Facebook user, Aminu Attahiru Abubakar took to the platform to call out the Bauchi State Government for their ''non-chaland attitude towards handling the affairs of the state.''   He shared photos of commuters fetching 'drinking' water from a pipe inside a dirty place and wrote;   This is Anguwar Bakaro. Just look at the place where people are fetching water to drink in Bauchi State. It is a major failure which may result to cholera epidemic and cause death. I can excuse the government reasons for failure to complete other projects but if they cannot provide ordinary tap water for people in 4yrs, what excuse should I give them? Haba Dan Allah!    With all due respect to His Excellency, I like him as a person but his nonchalant attitude towards handling the affairs of our state is totally uncalled for. An orangutan who was forced to become a sex slave and sleep with men on a daily basis has finally undergone rehabilitation after it was rescued from its kidnapper in an Indonesian village. The endangered Bornean orangutan named, Pony, was reportedly discovered in February 2003 inside a darkened room in the village of Kareng Pangi, Central Kalimantan chained to a wall and lying on a mattress. The orangutan who was taken away from her mother when she was a baby, was abused for years by local palm oil farmers coming into the village to pay £2 each to have sex with her. According to Mai Online, the brothel madam who kept her in the dark room treated her extremely harshly, shaved her every two days and forced her to wear perfume and makeup. 20-year-old man drowns in a pool at his friend’s birthday party in Abia State

20-year-old Chidiebere David, drowned on Thursday night in the swimming pool of a popular hotel on Margret Avenue, GRA, Aba in Abia, during a friend’s birthday party.   According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Abia, Geoffrey Ogbonna who confirmed the incident,  “the man is about 20 years old. His name is Chidiebere David. He accompanied his friends to a birthday party in the hotel and got drowned there. That was exactly what happened’ ’. The deceased went with his friends who were over 16 in number to the hotel to celebrate the birthday of one of them. Chidiebere who hailed from Imo died at the pool with no one realising that he had drowned until it was too late. The relatives of the young man were said to have later arrived at the scene, taken his body and deposited at a morgue close to the hotel and friends of the deceased were arrested and taken into custody same night by policemen from Aba Area Command.

Nigerian man sentenced to death in Malaysia for drug trafficking

A Nigerian man was sentenced to death by the High Court in KualaLumpur, Malaysia, on Friday, November 30,  after he was found guilty of trafficking more than 700g of drugs into the country in May 2017.   Judge Datuk Azman Abdullah sent Sidrey Shalod Dike, 46, to the gallows after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubt against the prosecution’s case.   “After examining arguments by both the defence and the prosecution, the court found that the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt and the accused is found guilty and sentenced to death,” he said.   Dike, a part-time delivery man, was charged with trafficking 727.1g of methamphetamine at a lane at Jalan Segambut, Kg Segambut Luar at 2.30pm on May 3, 2017.   He was charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 39B(2) of the same law, which provides the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.   The prosecution was conducted by deputy publi

Former U.S. secretary of state and one-time Democratic presidential candidate,   John Kerry , has revealed he is considering running for President in 2020. During “A Conversation With John Kerry” at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum, the 74-year-old from Massachusetts revealed this when asked about a presidential run. “I’m thinking about how the hell to get out from under that question fast,” Kerry answered when asked if he had been considering a second presidential bid. He then went on to explain that while he hasn’t been actively considering it, he’s “not taking anything off the table.” “I’m not taking anything off the table,” he responded. “I haven’t been running around to the most obvious states, laying any groundwork or doing anything. “Am I going to think about it? Yeah, I’m going to think about it,” he continued. Kerry who contested for the presidency in 2004, lost to  George W. Bush  in a tight race, losing by 19 electoral votes.

Woman is arrested again for beating up her boyfriend because he won't have sex with her

A woman was arrested for the second time after beating up her boyfriend because he refused to have sex with her  Rebecca Lynn Phelps, 31, was arrested by police near Tampa for allegedly attacking her boyfriend as he slept. Police accuse her of "grabbing her boyfriend’s genitals [while] wanting to have sex" on Thanksgiving night. Phelps shares a home with the victim, who is unnamed, and their child in Land O'Lakes, Florida. Police say that her boyfriend was sleeping when Phelps walked into the bedroom drunk  and indicated she wanted to have sex. She allegedly grabbed his genitals but he said no and went back to sleep. She then left the room, only to come back and start "tapping" his leg, police said. A British Airways steward was arrested just moments before take-off while trying to 'smuggle £1.5million of cocaine' into Britain on Monday. 43-year-old  Jean-Paul Ogou  was about to board a flight from Sao Paulo to London when officers discovered 2st (13kg) of the drug in his carry on bag. He attempted to walk past security without passing his hold-all through the x-ray machine reserved for flight crew, but he was reportedly spotted by police at the airport in Brazil, and they found pure cocaine inside stashed in plastic bags and pillowcases. The cocaine haul and scales weighing in the haul at 12.983kg.  Mr. Ogou who lives in France and commutes to London, is said to have flown for British Airways for ten years and have family links to the Ivory Coast.  Sun UK reported that that Airline bosses have dismissed Mr. Ogou from the company as he was locked up in a Brazilian jail where he is awaiting charges.  An insider told The Sun: 'Anyone buyi

A lady was left horrified after discovering 'discharge' in the crotch of a new jumpsuit she said she bought from PrettyLittleThing. Emily Coventry , from  Harlow, Essex,  claimed she discovered the 'dried' white substance after she tried the dress on Tuesday 27 November. The horrified lady angrily took to Twitter to call out the UK-based fashion retailer, and accused them of  'complete lack of care.' Emily's tweet, which has since been deleted, read: 'I received a parcel yesterday from @OfficialPLT and there is DISCHARGE on the inside of the crotch area. 'Literally feel sick, so unhygienic and a complete lack of care!! How can this actually be sent to someone without being checked?' Emily added: 'I don't know what actually made me think to look before I put it back in the packaging. I remember thinking "what is that?" It was discharge in the crotch, it was just horrible.'

A man's emotions got the better of him and he attacked his fiancee in church after Pastor Chris Okafor "saw a vision" and prophesied that she is the one behind his problems. The man had sold his properties to travel abroad. He reportedly suffered to get a visa but eventually succeeded. But when the time came for him to travel, he couldn't find his passport and he missed the trip which was supposed to have been on Tuesday. While conducting deliverance in church, popular Nigerian pastor, Chris Okafor, informed the man that his fiancee, Joy, was the one who hid his passport.  The man found it hard to believe and kept shaking his head in denial. When the pastor insisted it was true and his fiancee's face had guilt written all over it, the man lunged at her and began to attack her.

Georgia elects Salome Zurabishvili as the country's first female president

Salome Zurabishvili   has won Georgia's presidential election, becoming the first woman to hold the office. With nearly all votes counted, the French-born ex-diplomat had 59% of the vote with rival Grigol Vashadze on 40%.   Zurabishvili was backed by the ruling Georgian Dream party while Vashadze was a united opposition candidate. A new constitution is due to come into force, making the role of president largely ceremonial.   Zurabishvili, 66, was born in Paris after her parents fled Georgia in 1921 following its annexation by Soviet forces. She took up a career in the French foreign service and was posted to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, as ambassador in 2003. She later gave up her post and the then-president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, appointed her foreign minister.
